| New Geomatics Engineering scholarships |

The Educational Foundation of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS) has approved for York U’s Geomatics Engineering program 2 new entrance awards of $1,000 each. The existing awards have been revised as well to: 2 third year awards of $1000 each, 2 fourth year awards of $1000 each and the H. Reinthaler award of $1000. The total amount of the AOLS awards for our students is $7000 per year. The new entrance awards will complement any other award/scholarship that the students may receive. The aim of the 2 new entrance awards is to attract high caliber students to our Geomatics Engineering program. The Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS) was established in 1892. It is a self-governing association, responsible for the licensing and governance of professional land surveyors, in accordance with the Surveyors Act, the regulations and the by-laws in order that the public interest may be served and protected. The AOLS Educational Foundation is a registered charity that was formed in 1973 to provide support for post-secondary Geomatics students who have attained high academic achievement and possess evident characteristics of leadership.
